# Audio File Management

> Play, convert to notes, back up, and delete the recordings stored on your phone, all from one place.

## Open the all audio files screen

In the mobile app, go to **\[Settings]** → the **\[Management]** section and tap **\[All audio files]**. Your offline recordings stored on the device are organized by date, along with how much storage they use. You can search by title, and pull down to refresh.

## What you can do

* **\[Play file]**: Listen to a recording before you convert it.
* **\[Create note]**: Upload a recording you haven't converted yet and turn it into a text note. Your usage is deducted at this point.
* **\[Select]** mode: Tap the select button in the header to pick files and run the next actions.
  * **Download**: Save the audio file to your device. One file at a time. On Android, files save to the Downloads folder. On iOS, the share sheet lets you save them to the Files app and elsewhere.
  * **Share**: Export the audio to another app without converting it to text. One file at a time.
  * **Delete**: Remove the selected files. You can delete several at once.

<Warning>Deleted audio files can't be recovered. Deleting a note also deletes that note's audio file, so if you want to keep the audio, export it first with the **\[Back up audio]** button in the delete confirmation dialog.</Warning>

## How are files stored?

* Recordings are kept in storage reserved for the Tiro app.
* Offline recordings you create yourself stay until you delete them.
* Audio saved during live recording also stays until you delete it. That said, when your device is low on free space, new recordings may not be saved to the device at all, so download anything you want to keep ahead of time.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I download or share several files at once?

No. Downloading and sharing both work one file at a time. Go to **\[Settings]** → **\[Management]** → **\[All audio files]**, tap **\[Select]**, pick a single file, and run the action. Deleting is the only action that handles several files at once.

### Does recording without converting count against my usage?

No. Usage is deducted when you convert with the **\[Create note]** button. For details, see [Offline Recording](/en/guide/recording/offline).

### It says I'm low on storage.

Free up space by deleting recordings you no longer need from the all audio files screen. Back up anything important by downloading it first, then delete.
