# Free Trial

> Get 100 minutes when you sign up, then complete onboarding tasks within 3 weeks to increase your free allowance to 300 minutes.

## About the Tiro free trial

The first time you sign up for Tiro, a workspace is created automatically and you receive **100 free minutes** right away. Complete these onboarding tasks within 3 weeks to earn 50 minutes per task and increase your free allowance to **300 minutes**:

* Create your first note: 50 minutes
* Connect your calendar: 50 minutes
* Install the desktop app: 50 minutes
* Install the mobile app: 50 minutes

This usage is shared across live recording, offline mode, and audio file upload. Free trial credit does not renew each month. It's granted once per account and does not apply to additional workspaces you create.

You don't need to add a payment method up front, and your trial never converts to a paid plan automatically. So go ahead and explore.

## When does the free trial end?

The free trial ends at whichever of these happens first:

* **Three weeks pass after sign-up**: You can no longer use remaining minutes.
* **You purchase a paid plan**: The trial ends immediately and the paid plan starts. Remaining trial minutes become credit that you use after your new plan's monthly allowance.

You do not have to use every free minute before moving to a paid plan. Your new plan starts as soon as you purchase it, regardless of how many trial minutes remain.

<Note>See [Credits](/en/guide/workspace/credits) for details about credit converted from remaining trial minutes.</Note>

Canceling a subscription also ends the free trial at that point.

## When you use all your free trial minutes

Once your currently available free minutes are gone, you can't create new notes.

If you still have onboarding tasks left and are within the 3-week window, complete them to earn more minutes. If you have completed every task or the trial period has ended, subscribe to keep recording. See [Tiro plans](/en/guide/workspace/plans) and [Managing your subscription](/en/guide/workspace/billing-guide).

**You can still view your past recordings after using all your free trial minutes.**

After your trial ends, you can still view, edit, and share your existing notes. However, content beyond 50 minutes per note remains blurred until you upgrade to a paid plan.

## Note viewing and recording limits

During the free trial, viewing is capped at 50 minutes per note, and you can record up to 120 minutes.

* **Past 50 minutes**: the note keeps recording, but its content is **temporarily blurred and viewing is restricted**. Your note is still being recorded normally. After you upgrade your plan, you'll see the full text in its entirety. This isn't an error, so there's nothing to worry about.
* **Past 120 minutes**: recording stops automatically, and **anything after that point can't be recovered**, even if you upgrade your plan later. To record a longer meeting, upgrade your plan and start a new note.

Upgrade to a paid plan and you can record up to **5 hours (300 minutes)** per note, and the 50-minute blur limit goes away.

## Inviting people to a workspace on the free trial

Free trial minutes are available separately for each member. An account that hasn't used its free trial yet starts with 100 minutes and can earn 50 more per onboarding task completed within 3 weeks of signing up, up to 300 minutes. An account that already used its free trial in another workspace doesn't get another one, since the trial is granted once per account. The trial period stays tied to when the workspace was created and applies to everyone the same way.

A workspace on the free trial can have up to **20 members**. This limit applies only during the free trial. The Team plan removes this cap and bills for the Admin and Member seats you invite. See [Tiro plans](/en/guide/workspace/plans) for seat details.

## Frequently asked questions

### If I create a new workspace, do I get another 300 free trial minutes?

No. The free trial is granted once per account. Creating additional workspaces after sign-up does not grant free trial usage again.

### Does everyone get their own 300 minutes?

Free trial minutes are available separately for each member. An account that hasn't used its free trial yet starts with 100 minutes and can earn 50 more per onboarding task completed within 3 weeks of signing up, up to 300 minutes. An account that already used its free trial doesn't get another one, since the trial is granted once per account.

### Do I have to use all my trial minutes before switching to a paid plan?

No. You can switch at any time. Purchasing a paid plan ends the trial immediately and starts the new plan. Remaining trial minutes become credit that you use after the new plan's monthly allowance.

### How many people can I invite during the free trial?

A workspace on the free trial can have up to 20 members. The Team plan removes this cap and bills automatically for each invited Admin and Member seat.

### If I pay after my trial ends, can I see the content that was blurred?

Notes that were blurred past 50 minutes become fully viewable again after you upgrade your plan. But if recording stopped automatically past 120 minutes, the content after that point can't be recovered, even after you pay.
