# Gift Tiro

> Invite friends to Tiro and earn payment rewards when they complete their first recording and paid subscription milestones.

When you gift Tiro to a friend, they get a discount on their first subscription payment, and you earn rewards that come off your own payment total. Send your invite link from **\[Settings]** → **\[Gift Tiro]** on web and desktop, or from **\[My Page]** → **\[Gift Tiro and get up to \$8]** in the mobile app.

* **Your friend**: Signing up through your invite link gives them a one-time discount equivalent to one month of the Pro plan. It applies to their first subscription payment, so they need to start a subscription to use it. It does not extend the free trial.
* **You**: You earn \$3 when your friend completes their first recording of 10 minutes or more, and \$5 seven days after their first paid payment. That's up to \$8 per person, and there's no limit on how many people you invite.

## Where can I check joined friends and my reward balance?

Below the invite link on the **\[Gift Tiro]** screen, you can see how many friends completed signup and how much reward balance is currently available.

* The **\[Friends joined]** card shows the number of people who completed signup through your link, not the number of invitation emails you sent.
* The **\[My rewards]** card shows the reward amount currently available. Rewards are automatically applied when you start an individual plan on the web or when that plan renews, so there is no code to enter or separate application to submit.

If your subscription is billed through the App Store or Play Store, the **\[My rewards]** card is locked and explains that rewards cannot be applied to subscriptions billed through the app. Contact support to switch to web billing.

In the mobile app, open **\[My Page]** and select **\[Gift Tiro and get up to \$8]** to see the same information.

## How are rewards applied to payments?

When you start an individual plan on the web or the plan renews, valid rewards are automatically applied up to the payment total. If your reward balance is greater than the payment, only the amount used is deducted. The rest stays available until it expires and is automatically applied again at the next renewal.

Rewards do not apply to an immediate charge caused by changing plans. Your remaining balance does not disappear. If it is still valid, it is automatically applied at the next renewal. This works the same way for rewards given to invited friends and rewards earned by inviters.

## How will I know when a reward is added?

When a reward is added, a notification appears in the web and desktop sidebar. You receive one when your invited friend records for at least 10 minutes and another when they complete their first paid payment. The reward amount is shown in the notification.

Select the notification to open the **\[Gift Tiro]** screen. The notification disappears after you open the screen once.

## How are gifting rewards different from credits?

Gifting rewards are completely separate from credits, which are recording minutes. A reward is not recording time. It is a **balance deducted from your payment total** and is automatically applied when you start an individual plan on the web or when that plan renews.

  Contact support to switch to web billing. A friend's signup reward is valid for 7 days
  from the date it is granted, while rewards earned by the inviter are valid for 1 year.
  The oldest rewards are used first.

People you invited before this program launched were rewarded under the previous program with 100 minutes of usage credit, so they do not earn rewards retroactively. They still count toward your number of joined invitees.
