Team Plan Billing Guide: Adding and Removing Members

Learn how seat-based billing works and how costs change when adding or removing team members.

Team Plan pricing is based on the number of accounts (seats). You're charged based on the number of users in your team, and all team members have access to the same features.

  • Base rate: $29/month per seat

  • Unlimited usage time

  • All collaboration features included

Example

A team with 10 members is charged $290/month (10 × $29)

The entire team is billed through a single invoice:

  • Charged to the team owner's payment method

  • No individual payments required from team members

  • Single invoice issued

Only Team Admin can invite team members.

  1. Click top-left profile > Settings > Team > Team Management

  2. Click Add Member button

  3. Enter email address (required)

  4. Add memo (optional: team, role, etc.)

  5. Send invitation

  • An invitation email is sent to the provided address

  • Once accepted, the person is immediately added as a team member

When a team member accepts the invitation, you're immediately charged a prorated amount for the remaining period.

Note: When you invite additional team members, charges are prorated from the acceptance date based on the remaining days and billed immediately.

  1. Click top-left profile > Settings > Team > Team Management

  2. Select the team member to remove

  3. Click Remove from Team

  4. Confirm to immediately remove

Immediate Effects:

  • The member is immediately removed from Team Plan

  • They lose access to shared team features like Shared Word Memory

  • Team subscription benefits no longer apply to them

Cost Handling:

  • Subscription costs for that member are no longer charged

  • The remaining period cost is prorated and credited toward your next billing cycle

Scenario:

  • Current: 5-member team, monthly plan ($145/month)

  • Billing date: 1st of each month (January 1 payment completed)

  • Member removed: January 15 (16 days remaining)

  • Members removed: 1 person

You won't receive an immediate refund, but the cost for the remaining period is automatically credited toward your next billing cycle.
