A workspace is where your notes, folders, and teammates live together. With one Tiro account, you can belong to multiple workspaces at the same time and switch between them freely from [Workspace Switcher] at the top of the left sidebar.
There's no conceptual difference between a solo workspace and a team workspace. A workspace with one member acts as a solo space; with two or more members, it acts as a shared space. You can create a new workspace or invite teammates to share an existing one anytime.
A workspace with only one member is a space only you can see and use.
Plans available with one workspace member: Individual plans (Lite / Pro / Max)
You can create multiple solo workspaces under the same account
When you invite teammates to a workspace, it acts as a shared space. Notes in Team Folders are shared automatically among members with folder access, and the workspace's dictionary and templates are shared with everyone in the workspace.
Plans available with two or more workspace members: Team / Enterprise plan
Personal folder = a folder only you can see, not shared with other workspace members. Notes created without specifying a folder go into the Personal folder by default.
Team Folders = folders shared automatically with members of the same workspace.
You can set different member permissions per folder. You can share with all members or with only a subset.
The workspace dictionary and templates are shared with everyone in the workspace.
Some information is stored at the account level rather than per workspace. See the account management guide for details.
At the top of the left sidebar, open [Workspace Switcher] and click [+ Add new workspace].
Enter a name for your workspace
[Add new workspace] — click to create the workspace
You're automatically switched to the new workspace
A newly created workspace is a fresh space. Members and existing notes from your other workspaces don't carry over.
To join a workspace that's already running, you need an invite from that workspace's Admin.
1) If you already have a Tiro account
The Admin sends an invite to the email address registered on your Tiro account
When you receive the [Tiro Workspace Invitation] email, click the [Accept invite] button
You're taken into that workspace automatically, and it's added to [Workspace Switcher] at the top of the left sidebar
2) If you don't have a Tiro account yet
The Admin sends an invite to your email address
In the invite email, click [Get started with Tiro] to go to the sign-up screen
Complete sign-up using the same email address that was invited
You're added to that workspace automatically the moment you sign up — no need to click an accept button separately
Note: If you sign up to Tiro with an email different from the invited one, automatic joining doesn't work.
If you don't see the invite email, check your spam folder. If it's still missing, ask the Admin to invite you again. The Admin can click [⋯] → [Cancel invite] next to your row in the member list and resend.
A workspace Admin can manage members, billing, and some policy settings. When there are multiple Admins, they all have equal permissions.

When the recipient accepts the invite from their email, they become a member of the same workspace.
Important: Only accounts that can sign in with Google or Microsoft can accept a workspace invite and sign up for Tiro. If you want to join a workspace with an account that cannot use Google or Microsoft sign-in, please contact us at hello@theplato.io.
Note: To invite another member to a solo workspace on an individual plan (Lite / Pro / Max), you'll need to switch to the Team Plan first. You can upgrade to the Team Plan from [Plan management].
In the workspace [Members] list, click […] → [Revoke Invitation] next to the invited member whose invite you want to cancel. Admin permissions are required.
If you want to send the invitation email again, first cancel the existing invite, then go through the [Invite member] flow again.
In the workspace [Members] list, click […] → [Remove member] next to the member you want to remove. Admin permissions are required.
The removed member can no longer access the workspace
Any note the removed member was directly invited to remains available in [Shared with me]
The last remaining Admin can't remove themselves. Promote at least one other member to Admin first.
Notes can be moved only when the workspace Admin has enabled note transfers. In [Settings > Workspace > General], turn on the toggle that allows moving notes to other workspaces.
Once the Admin enables the option, you can move notes you created to other workspaces. Click […] → [Move to workspace] at the top right of the note. You can also select several notes at once and move them together.
Note access permissions follow the folder permissions of the destination workspace. Right after the move, the note appears in the Inbox of the Private folder
Usage (such as recording time) is permanently tied to the workspace where the note was created. Even if you move a note to another workspace, usage is still counted against the original workspace's subscription
Notes currently being recorded can't be moved. End the recording first
Once a member leaves the workspace, that member can no longer access notes inside it.
Note: If the Admin has restricted moving notes outside the workspace, the [Move to workspace] menu doesn't appear.
To leave a workspace, remove yourself from member management. In [Settings > Workspace > Members], click […] → [Remove member] next to your own name.
Once you leave, you can no longer access the notes or folders in that workspace
If you want to keep viewing your notes, move them to another workspace ahead of time
If you're the last Admin, promote another member to Admin before leaving
Q. Can I have multiple workspaces under the same account?
Yes. You can belong to a team workspace while also creating a separate solo workspace for organizing side-project notes. Each workspace has independent billing, members, and notes.
However, accounts that belong to a company Organization on the Enterprise plan can't create a separate workspace outside that Organization.
Q. Does moving a note to another workspace reset usage?
No. Usage is permanently tied to the workspace where the note was first created. Even after you move it, usage is still counted against the original workspace's subscription, so the subscription quota doesn't reset.
Q. Can I get a new free trial when I create a new workspace?
No. The free trial is only available once, in the default workspace created automatically at signup. Newly created workspaces don't come with a free trial.
Q. Who "owns" a workspace?
A workspace has no separate Owner. Members with Admin (ADMIN) permissions share responsibility for operations and billing. There can be multiple Admins, all with equal permissions.
Q. Does inviting teammates to a workspace share all my notes with them?
Notes in your Personal folder remain hidden from other members. Only notes placed in Team Folders shared with workspace members are visible to them. Joining a workspace does not automatically expose your existing notes to other members.
