With Custom Templates, you can summarize and refine your notes using templates you’ve created yourself. If you’d like to learn more about Tiro’s default templates, check out the Write with Tiro Help Guide.

You can create a custom template via Settings > Template Management or in the Note Detail screen > Custom Document > View All Templates.

Important

Creating or editing custom templates is only available on the Desktop (web/app)For more details, please refer to the Platform Feature Support Guide.

Custom templates let you structure your notes exactly the way you want.Instead of fixed templates, you can divide your document into sections and specify how Tiro should summarize or organize each one.

When making a template, you can split the content into different sections based on your needs.Try setting it up freely depending on the document’s purpose—such as meeting notes, interviews, or journals.

If you’d like section titles to appear in the final document, simply enter them. The entered title will be reflected as is—for example: “Meeting Outcomes,” “Interview Questions,” or “To-Dos.”

For each section, you can choose from four content types and add instructions accordingly:

  • Q&APaste in predefined questions, and Tiro will automatically extract and summarize answers from your conversation.Perfect for structured interviews like hiring or sales.

  • Action ItemsTiro organizes tasks into bullet points with clear details of who, what, and by when. After the meeting, you’ll have a clear to-do list at a glance.

  • Example DocumentIf you want to reuse a familiar document style, paste in a sample.Tiro will replicate its markdown, tone, and structure to generate notes in the same format.

Be sure to paste the raw text of the document, not just a URL.

  • Plain TextUse this when you don’t need a specific format.Ideal for general notes, highlights, ideas, or any content you’d like summarized in a freeform way.
