If you see this error when paying for a subscription in the Tiro app, your device or Google account settings are restricting the purchase. Check the steps below in order.
Cause 1. You're signed in with a school or work account
Google accounts issued by a school or company (for example, name@school.edu or name@company.com) are often blocked from in-app purchases by organization policy.
How to fix:
① Open the Google Play Store app
② Tap the profile icon in the top right
③ Check the account you're signed in with
④ Switch to a personal Gmail account (@gmail.com)
⑤ Try the purchase again
Cause 2. You have no payment method, or it has expired
How to fix:
① Google Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions
② Check that a valid card or account is registered
③ If expired, remove it and add a new payment method
Cause 3. Parental controls are turned on
How to fix:
① Google Play Store → profile icon → Settings
② Family → Parental controls
③ Check whether in-app purchases are set to 'Blocked' or 'Approval required'
④ Enter the parental PIN and change it to 'Allowed'
Cause 4. There's an issue with your Google payments profile
Google may have temporarily blocked payments on your account for security reasons.
How to fix:
① Go to payments.google.com (sign in with the same Google account)
② If there's a warning at the top, follow the prompts to submit verification information
③ After it's resolved, try the purchase again
Cause 5. Your Play Store country setting is different
If your Play account is set to another country (such as the US or Japan), payments can be restricted.
How to fix:
① Google Play Store → profile icon → Settings
② Account information → check Country and profiles
③ If the country is not your own, follow the prompts to request a change
Cause 6. Your Google Play app is not up to date
How to fix:
① Google Play Store → profile icon → Manage apps & device
② From the list of available updates, update Google Play Store and Google Play services
③ Restart your device and try the purchase again
