If you press the Start button and speak, but the audio waveform does not move on the voice recording button, there may be several reasons why Tiro is not recognizing your voice.
Click the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of your browser > Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings.
Under the Permissions section, select Microphone (or copy and paste this link into the Chrome address bar:
chrome://settings/content/microphone).On the Microphone settings page, check whether tiro.ooo is listed under "Microphone access denied" or "Microphone access allowed".
To ensure Tiro can recognize your voice, it needs to be listed under "Allowed".
Click the Delete button (trash icon) next to tiro.ooo to remove the block. Then, when you create a new note in Tiro, Chrome will prompt you with a message asking for permission. Click Allow, and Tiro will start recognizing your voice. If you don't want to be asked for permission every time, select "Allow while using the site".
Open Settings > System > Sound > Under the Input section, select Microphone.
In the Input Settings section, check if the microphone icon is crossed out, indicating it’s muted.
If it is muted, click the icon again to unmute it (remove the cross).
Test the microphone by clicking Test > Start Test to check if your laptop’s microphone is working correctly.
Right-click the speaker icon in the lower-right tray > Select Open Sound Settings.
Choose the Recording tab > Right-click on Microphone > Select Properties.
Go to the Levels tab to check that the microphone volume is set appropriately.
Note: Some Windows laptops have a microphone mute shortcut key (e.g., Lenovo ThinkPad: F4). Make sure you haven’t accidentally muted the microphone using this key.
