Here are common questions since the workspace rollout. You can find the basics and how to use workspaces in the Workspace guide.
Team Plan users get two workspaces.
Default workspace: Your personal notes created before joining the Team Plan
Workspace shared with your team: Notes created after joining the Team Plan or placed in Team Folders
Switch between the two from the [Workspace Switcher] in the left sidebar.
Existing notes stay where they were. They aren't automatically moved or deleted.
If you were on an Individual Plan: all your notes go into a single solo workspace
If you were on a Team Plan: you get two workspaces (solo and team-shared), and notes are split based on where they were created
Note access permissions stay the same. Notes only you could see remain personal, and notes you shared with the team are visible only to members of that workspace.
To move a note to another workspace, the workspace Admin must enable the toggle that allows moving notes to other workspaces, found in [Settings > Workspace > General]. This setting is required even for solo workspaces.
Then in the note list, click the three-dot menu next to the note > Move to workspace, and pick the destination. The moved note appears in the inbox of the PRIVATE folder.
Tiro usage stays permanently with the workspace where the note was first created. Even after you move the note, the original workspace's subscription quota isn't refunded.
Notes that are currently recording can't be moved. End the recording first, then move it.
Yes, that's normal. Each workspace has its own [Private] folder, and the two folders are separate and independent.
In your default workspace, [Private] = personal notes created before joining the Team Plan
In your team-shared workspace, [Private] = personal notes created after joining the Team Plan
One might have notes while the other is empty. If you want to merge them, you can move notes manually.
No, the free trial is available only in your default workspace, created at signup, and only once.
Duration: 3 weeks, with 300 minutes of usage
The free trial doesn't require a payment method to start
New workspaces you create don't come with a free trial
If you invite additional members to a workspace during the free trial, each member also gets 300 minutes of free trial time. The trial period itself is based on when the workspace was created.
If you subscribe to a paid plan during the trial, the trial ends and the regular subscription starts immediately
If you've already used the free trial, no additional trial is available under the new policy
To invite a second member to a solo workspace, you'll need to switch to the Team Plan first from [Settings > Plan management].
If you were paying via web, you can switch immediately. The price difference is prorated at the time of the switch, and you don't have to wait until the next billing date.
If you were on a mobile in-app purchase, you can't switch immediately. Create a new workspace and start the Team Plan there. If you need to cancel your existing in-app subscription, see the iOS or Android in-app subscription management guide.
Existing API keys not issued at the workspace level may be cleaned up within a month. We'll send a separate notice before any cleanup, so there's nothing to worry about.
MCP will soon also operate at the workspace level.
For now, you can pull any note you have access to through the API and MCP, regardless of which workspace it lives in.
