Plans at a glance

Individuals choose from three plans: Lite, Pro, and Max. Teams and organizations get the per-seat Team plan and Enterprise. Pay annually and two months are free, and every plan starts with a 3-week, 300-minute free trial. Compare price, usage, and who each fits in the table below.

What each plan includes

Throughout the guide, features marked with a Pro+, Team+, or Enterprise badge are available starting from that plan. A Team+ badge means the feature shines in a shared workspace.

Individual plans (Lite, Pro, Max)

These plans run on a single-person workspace.
  • Lite ($7/mo): 300 min/mo of usage, no 60-minute-per-note limit, high-quality one-page document, unlimited AI chat grounded in your note records, and summaries from your own templates
  • Pro ($13/mo): 1,000 min/mo of usage, everything in Lite, plus speaker diarization
  • Max ($29/mo): unlimited usage so daily use is never a worry, everything in Pro
The former Starter and Business plans are now named Pro and Max. The features and pricing are unchanged.

Team plan

The Team plan is for workspaces with 2 or more people. To create notes in a shared workspace, switch to the Team plan. Pricing scales with the number of seats, and a seat counts anyone with Admin or Member permissions (Viewers and Unpaid admins aren’t billed).
  • Monthly: $29 per seat
  • Annual: $290 per seat (about $24.17/mo)
What the Team plan includes:
  • Everything in the individual Max plan (unlimited usage)
  • Workspace-level billing: one admin manages the entire subscription, and a single company card settles it all
  • Team folders: set the folder permissions once and the notes inside are shared automatically among the people with access
  • Workspace dictionary: register company acronyms, product names, and people’s names so recognition accuracy improves across everyone’s records
  • Workspace templates: standardize meeting and interview formats so notes build up with the same structure no matter who writes them
  • Per-account usage dashboard and people management

Who counts toward billed seats?

Seats are billed by the number of admins and members, because creating and recording notes takes up a billed seat. Unpaid admins and viewers don’t take up a seat, so they aren’t billed. Everyone in a workspace holds one of four roles (Admin, Unpaid admin, Member, Viewer). For each role’s permissions and how they’re billed, see Workspace roles.

Getting started with the Team plan

On the Team plan, one admin pays for a single subscription per workspace and fills it by inviting people in. People don’t each pay on their own and then link up. Seats aren’t something an admin buys up front either; you’re billed automatically for the number of Admins and Members in the workspace. How you start depends on the workspace’s current state.
1

No paid subscription yet, or on a free trial

Invite people first, then switch to the Team plan. At the moment you switch, you’re charged in one go for the Admin and Member seats in the workspace.
2

Already paying for an individual plan (Pro or Max)

On an individual plan, inviting people is blocked. Switch to the Team plan first, then invite people. Each time someone accepts, a seat is added and billed on a prorated basis for the remaining period.
Both paths share the following:
  • Existing notes and folders stay in the workspace as is. Nothing is moved or deleted automatically.
  • Team plan billing happens on the web and desktop app. Mobile in-app purchases support only individual plans on a single-person workspace.
  • If a workspace has 2 or more people but no Team plan, creating new notes and starting recordings is restricted, and you’re directed to the subscription screen.

Enterprise plan

A custom plan for organizations with many people and complex security and operations environments.
  • Everything in the Team plan
  • Extra security options that match your company’s internal policies (for SSO, audit logs, and data retention policy, see Organization security settings; for sharing link policy, see Share link security)
  • A dedicated API and webhooks for internal system integration, plus support for a shared login domain
  • Custom onboarding sessions and a hotline

Annual billing benefit

Pay annually and you get two months free. You pay for 10 months and use 12.
  • Lite $70/yr · Pro $130/yr · Max $290/yr · Team $290/yr per seat
Annual billing is available on the web or desktop app.

How to pay

1

On the web or desktop app (recommended)

Open your profile at the top left, go to [Settings][Manage Subscription], choose the plan and billing cycle you want, and get started. Payments are handled securely through Stripe. Business users can check “Purchasing for business purposes” on the payment screen and enter a business registration number to be exempt from the 10% VAT.
2

Mobile in-app purchase

You can also pay through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), but platform fees make it more expensive than web or desktop. To pay less, use web or desktop. In-app purchase is available when you have a single personal workspace.
When a free trial ends, it doesn’t convert to a paid plan automatically, so start your subscription yourself whenever you’re ready.

Keep recording past your limit with additional recording

When your plan’s included time runs out, turn on Additional recording to keep recording meetings without interruption. Time beyond your monthly included minutes is billed at $0.025 per minute. You can turn it on for both individual plans (Lite, Pro, Max) and the Team plan. A workspace admin turns on the [Additional recording] toggle under the “Recording policy” section of [Settings][Workspace]. Once it’s on, recording continues automatically after the included time runs out, and only the extra minutes are billed. Turning on additional recording requires the following:
  • Stripe billing: only workspaces that pay through Stripe on web or desktop can turn it on. If you subscribe through App Store or Google Play in-app purchase, the [Additional recording] toggle doesn’t appear.
  • Admin permission: the [Additional recording] toggle is visible only to admins (and unpaid admins), and only they can turn it on or off. It doesn’t appear for members or viewers.
  • A payment method on file: without a payment method, the toggle is disabled and shows “Add a payment method before turning on additional recording.” Add a payment method, then turn it on again.
Plans with unlimited usage, such as Max and Team, never exceed monthly included time, so they incur no additional recording charges. Overage applies on the Lite and Pro plans, which have a fixed monthly allowance, when you go past the limit.

Frequently asked questions

Can I turn on additional recording (overage) on an individual plan?

Yes. Additional recording isn’t limited to the Team plan. On the Lite, Pro, and Max individual plans, you can turn it on under “Recording policy” in [Settings][Workspace] as long as you pay through Stripe and you’re an admin. You can’t turn it on if you subscribe through App Store or Google Play in-app purchase. Time over your limit is billed at $0.025 per minute.

What happens to billing when a teammate joins or leaves mid-cycle?

Adding or removing a seat applies as a prorated charge at that moment. Add someone partway through a monthly cycle and the extra seat is billed for the remaining days. Remove someone and the change takes effect in the next billing cycle.

How is the Team plan different from the Enterprise plan?

The Team plan is a self-service plan you subscribe to right away with a payment card. Enterprise is a consultation-based plan for organizations that need SSO, security policies, and custom integrations. To discuss adoption, reach out to partners@theplato.io.

When does a plan change take effect?

Upgrades apply immediately, and the difference is billed on a prorated basis. For details on how to change or cancel a plan, see Subscription management.
