What are credits?
Credits are recording minutes you can use independently of your plan. One credit equals one minute of recording time, and you can use credits even without a paid plan or after your free trial ends.- 1 credit = 1 minute of recording time
- Validity: 1 year from the date you receive them (any remaining credits expire after that)
- Usable even after your free trial ends
- Kept regardless of plan changes
How credits are deducted
- Your plan’s monthly minutes are used first, and credits are deducted only after you run out. On plans with unlimited usage, credits are never deducted.
- If you hold several batches of credits, the ones closest to expiring are deducted first, automatically.
- Credits have no separate screen. They roll into your remaining usage total. For example, on the Lite plan (300 minutes/month) with 50 credit minutes, your remaining usage shows as 350 minutes.
Gift Tiro
When you gift Tiro to a friend, they get a discount on their first subscription payment, and you earn rewards that come off your own payment total. Send your invite link from [Settings] → [Gift Tiro].- Your friend: Signing up through your invite link gets them a one-month Pro plan discount, once. It applies to their first subscription payment, so they need to start a subscription to use it. It doesn’t extend the free trial.
- You: You earn $3 when your friend finishes their first recording of 10 minutes or more, and $5 seven days after their first paid payment. That’s up to $8 per person, and there’s no limit on how many people you invite.
Gifting rewards are completely separate from credits (recording minutes). A reward isn’t recording time — it’s a balance that comes off your payment total, applied automatically to your own web (Stripe) payments starting from your next payment. It doesn’t apply to subscriptions billed through the App Store or Play Store; to switch to web billing, contact support. Rewards expire 1 year after you earn them, and the oldest ones are used first.
Frequently asked questions
Can I view my credits on their own?
There’s no separate screen for credits alone. They’re shown as part of your total remaining usage.Do my credits disappear if I change plans?
No. Credits are managed separately from your plan, so they stay intact within their validity period even if you switch or cancel your plan.I’ve used up my monthly usage but want to keep recording.
If you have credits, they’re deducted automatically and you can keep recording. If you’re out of credits too, consider upgrading your plan. See Tiro plans.Related pages: Tiro plans · Free trial · Manage your subscription
