You cancel and refund your Tiro subscription on the platform where you paid. Cancel on the web or desktop app (Stripe) under [Plan management], on iOS through the App Store, and on Android through Google Play. Canceling (stopping the next charge) and refunding (getting money back) are separate, and canceling doesn’t refund automatically. So start by checking where you paid. Your billing provider depends on where you completed your payment. The provider determines how you manage billing, how refunds are handled, and where to get support. This guide helps you understand Tiro’s billing providers and quickly find which one you’re using.

Billing providers at a glance

Tiro billing providers at a glance

Your billing provider is set by where you completed your payment.

How to find your billing provider

1) Think back to where you paid Answer the question below for a quick check.
  • Paid on the web or in the desktop app → Stripe
  • Paid in the iPhone app → App Store
  • Paid in the Android app → Google Play Store
If you don’t remember your billing provider, start by checking the device and environment you paid from. 2) Check in the Manage Subscription screen on Tiro web If you’re on the web or desktop app, you can also check in the Manage Subscription screen.

Good to know

  • Your billing provider does not change automatically.
  • Even with the same email or account, a different payment environment can mean a different billing provider.
  • Refunds, billing errors, and invoices are handled according to each provider’s policy.

Desktop (Stripe): start, check, and cancel

If you paid on the web or in the desktop app (Mac / Windows), your billing provider is Stripe.

Start a plan subscription

0) Open the billing page
  • Sign in to the Tiro website (https://tiro.ooo/) or the desktop app (Mac / Windows).
  • Click your profile at the bottom left, then go to [Manage Subscription] or Settings > Manage Subscription.
  • You can choose a paid plan and complete payment on this page.
Annual billing Choose annual billing to get two months free. Pay for ten months and use Tiro for the full twelve.
1) Pay for an individual plan
  • After signing in to Tiro, go to [Settings][Manage Subscription], choose your plan, and click Get started.
  • In the payment window, review the plan, billing cycle (monthly/annual), and amount.
  • If you have a promo code, click the field on the left to enter it.
Tiro currently supports card payments through Stripe. Use a credit or debit card that works for international payments. 2) Pay for a team plan
  • Sign in on the web or desktop app, then go to [Settings][Manage Subscription].
  • Choose the billing cycle (monthly/annual), then click [Start team plan].
Team plan payments aren’t supported in the mobile app. Always use the web or desktop app. Enter your payment details in the team plan window.
  • For a team plan, you don’t pick the number of accounts at checkout. Seats are calculated automatically from the number of Admins and Members in your workspace, and shown and billed that way.
  • For business users, check “Purchasing for business” on the right and enter your business registration number to be billed with the 10% VAT exemption.
After entering payment details, invite your teammates from the [Members] menu and start using the team plan’s collaboration features.

Choose your billing currency (KRW, JPY, or USD)

Besides US dollars, you can also pay in Korean won or Japanese yen. In the web or desktop app, open [Settings][Plans], then use the [Billing currency] dropdown at the top right of the pricing table. The moment you pick a currency, the pricing table and the checkout window switch to it, and you’re charged exactly the amount shown on screen.
You can’t change the billing currency of an ongoing subscription. Once payment goes through, the currency is locked to that subscription and the [Billing currency] dropdown disappears. During a free trial you haven’t paid yet, so you can still choose.
If you want to switch currencies, turn off auto-renewal, let the remaining subscription period run out, and then check out again in the currency you want. There’s no need to cancel or refund what you’ve already paid. Keep using the rest of your period, and once it ends the [Billing currency] dropdown comes back. Note that it reappears when the period actually ends, not the moment you turn off auto-renewal. Each currency has its own set price rather than an exchange-rate conversion, so switching currencies changes what you pay. Compare both amounts in the pricing table before you switch.
Billing currency selection only exists for web and desktop app payments. In-app purchases on iOS and Android have no currency picker, and they cost more than web or desktop because of store fees.
If the currency you want isn’t in the list, or checkout opens in a different currency than the one you picked, reach out through the in-app messenger (customer support).

Check your current plan

You can check your current plan two ways.
  • Click your profile at the bottom left > Plan info for a quick look.
  • Click your profile > Manage Subscription for fuller subscription details.
The Manage Subscription page shows the following.
  • Your current plan
  • Your next billing date
  • The platform you paid on
  • Options to change and manage your plan

Cancel an upcoming renewal

You can cancel a plan that’s set to renew at any time from the Manage Subscription page. Even after you cancel, you can keep using Tiro until the period you’ve already paid for ends.
Heads up Only subscriptions started on the web or desktop app can be canceled there. Subscriptions paid on another platform must be canceled on that platform. See the relevant guide for details. See the iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play) subscription sections below on this page for the steps.

iOS (App Store): start, check, and cancel

For iOS in-app purchases, you manage your existing subscription through the Apple App Store.

Start a plan subscription in the iOS app

  • Tap the three lines at the top left of the home screen.
  • Tap the gear icon next to your account name.
  • Tap the part labeled “Manage Subscription”.
  • Choose the plan you want and complete payment.

Check your current plan

  • Go to App Store > Account > Subscriptions.
  • Find Tiro in your subscriptions.
  • You can see your current plan and next billing (renewal) date right away. In the screen below, the ‘Lite plan’ bills on the 11th each month, and the next billing date is June 11.

Cancel an upcoming renewal

  • Select Tiro as in the “Check your current plan” step.
  • Tap Cancel Subscription to cancel the renewal so no further charges are made from the upcoming billing date. Even after you cancel, you can keep using Tiro until the next billing date.
Does canceling get me a refund? Canceling and refunding are different. Canceling means a subscription cancellation so you aren’t charged on the upcoming billing date. A refund returns an amount you’ve already paid, which you can request through the refund guide below.

Android (Google Play): start, check, and cancel

For Android in-app purchases, you manage your existing subscription through the Google Play Store.

Start a plan subscription in the Tiro app

  • Tap the round profile icon at the top right of the note list to open the Settings screen.
  • Tap Upgrade plan in the Plan section.
  • Choose your plan, then tap Purchase to complete payment.

Check your current plan in the Tiro app

  • Tap the round profile icon at the top right of the note list to open the Settings screen.
  • The subscription status card at the top of the Plan section shows your current plan, usage, and next billing date.
  • To change your payment method or cancel, tap Manage billing in the same section.

I tapped [Manage billing] in the Tiro app but it says “no active subscription”

In the Tiro app, [Settings] → [Plan] → [Manage billing] loads subscription details for the Google account currently signed in to Play Store on this device. If the Google account you paid with differs from the one currently signed in to Play Store, it may show “no active subscription”. How to find the Google account you paid with
  • Open the [Google Play] app on your phone.
  • Go to the profile icon at the top right → [Payments & subscriptions] → the [Subscriptions] tab.
  • The account where [Tiro] appears in the active subscriptions is the Google account used for payment. (If you don’t see Tiro in the active subscriptions, check the active subscriptions of your other Google Play Store accounts too.)
  • Sign in to Play Store with that account, then tap [Manage billing] again in the Tiro app.
Tiro support can’t confirm the Google account email used for payment. Please check it yourself using the method above or in the receipt email you got after paying.

Check your current plan in the Google Play Store

  • Go to Google Play Store > Account > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.
  • Find Tiro under Active (active subscriptions).
  • You can see your current plan and next billing date right away. In the screen below, the ‘Lite plan’ bills on the 30th each month, and the next billing date is July 30.
I don’t see Tiro in my subscriptions Check whether the account signed in to Play Store is the one used for payment. If you use multiple Google accounts, make sure it’s the account you were signed in to at the time of subscription. You can quickly see which account the subscription was made with in the Play Store receipt email you got after paying. To switch the signed-in account in Play Store, tap the profile icon at the top right and choose the account you want from the switch account menu. Then return to the subscription page to check.

Cancel an upcoming renewal

Does canceling get me a refund? Canceling and refunding are different. Canceling means a subscription cancellation so you aren’t charged on the upcoming billing date. A refund returns an amount you’ve already paid, which you can request through the refund guide below.
How to cancel a renewal in Play Store
  • First check your subscription status by following the “Check your current plan” steps.
  • Select the subscription you want to cancel.
  • Cancel by tapping Cancel subscription > (enter a cancellation reason) > Cancel subscription in order.
In the screen below, the charge scheduled for July 30 is canceled. How to cancel a renewal on desktop If you can’t access Play Store directly, you can cancel an upcoming subscription through the subscription cancellation link. Cancel by going through Open link > Cancel subscription > Confirm account > Select subscription > Cancel subscription. Make sure the account you paid with matches the account you’re canceling.

Change or remove your payment method (card)

You can change your registered card anytime. If you paid by card on the web or desktop app (Stripe), you go straight from Tiro to the billing management page to add, change, or remove a card. If you paid through in-app purchase or bank transfer, the steps are a little different.

Change your card on Stripe (web/desktop)

If you paid by card on the web or desktop app, manage your card in the following order.
  • Sign in to the Tiro website or desktop app, then go to [Settings][Plan Management].
  • Click [Subscription & Payment] to open the Stripe billing page. (Tiro doesn’t host its own card-entry screen. It links you to Stripe’s secure billing page.)
  • Manage your cards in the Payment methods section of the billing page.
    • Add a card: Click Add payment method, enter the new card details, and save.
    • Change your default card: Open the menu next to a card and click Make default. Your next payment is charged to this card.
    • Remove a card: Open the menu next to a card and click Delete.
Add the new card before you switch The default card linked to an active subscription can’t be removed right away. At least one card has to remain for the next payment, so the delete button on the default card is greyed out. To swap cards, go in this order: ① add the new card → ② set the new card as default → ③ delete the old card. Once you cancel the subscription, you can remove cards freely.
On a team plan, only the workspace Admin can open the billing page. The button stays disabled for regular members.
The billing page only changes your card, not your billing currency. It doesn’t show which currency you’re being charged in either. You choose your billing currency in [Plan Management], and only before your paid subscription starts.
If you’re already subscribed and want to switch currencies, turn off auto-renewal, let the remaining period run out, and check out again in the currency you want. There’s no need to refund what you’ve already paid. See Choose your billing currency earlier on this page for the steps. If paying in your local currency is essential, reach out through the in-app messenger (customer support).

Change your card for in-app purchases (App Store / Google Play)

If you paid in the iOS app (App Store) or the Android app (Google Play), you change your card in each store’s subscription settings, not in Tiro.
  • iOS: App Store → your account → payment information.
  • Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Payment methods.
If you’d like to move to web card payment (Stripe) and manage everything inside Tiro from now on, contact us through the in-app messenger (support).

If you paid by bank transfer

If you’re paying by bank transfer, contact us through the in-app messenger (support) to change your payment method and we’ll help.
Heads up! When your subscription has fully expired and you’re back on the free plan, the button to open billing management no longer appears in the app. If you want to clean up your card then, reach out through the in-app messenger (support) and we’ll take care of it.

Change your plan (upgrade / downgrade)

On a monthly subscription? Switch to annual to save up to 30%. Upgrading your Tiro plan gives you more recording time and additional features. How you upgrade depends on where you paid, so check the guide for your payment platform.

What is a plan upgrade?

A plan upgrade means moving to a plan with more usage. For example, moving from the Lite plan to the Pro plan (formerly the Starter plan). By contrast, moving from monthly to annual isn’t a plan upgrade; it’s a billing cycle change. You keep the same plan and only the billing cycle changes, so the timing and the way you’re charged are different from an upgrade. See the guide for your payment platform below for details.
Heads up How you change your plan depends on where you paid, so check the guide for your payment platform.

Stripe (web/desktop) plan change

How to upgrade (on desktop)
  • In the Tiro app or website, choose Settings > Manage Subscription.
  • Click the Upgrade button for the plan you want.
  • Click Update subscription in the Stripe billing screen.
  • Choose the plan to update to and click Continue (you can choose the plan type and monthly/annual).
  • Click Confirm on the confirmation screen.
The card already on file with your billing provider is charged automatically, so you don’t need to re-enter your card details. How to upgrade (in the mobile app)
  • Open the My Subscription menu in the Tiro app.
  • Click the Go to manage subscription button.
  • You’re taken to the Stripe subscription management portal.
  • The rest is the same as on desktop.
Switch monthly → annual (paid by card on web/desktop)
  • Sign in to Tiro and go to Settings > Manage Subscription at the top left.
  • Click the “Get started” button for the annual plan you want.
  • On the screen where you choose monthly/annual, choose “Annual”.
  • On the confirmation screen that appears, review the final effective date and the amount charged today, then continue.
Moving from monthly to annual isn’t a plan upgrade; it’s a billing cycle change. Because the annual price works out lower over the long run than what you’re paying monthly, this change doesn’t apply right away; it’s scheduled for the day your current billing cycle ends. So no prorated difference is charged today, and the annual amount isn’t billed immediately. You keep your current monthly plan until this cycle ends, and on your next renewal date it switches to annual and the annual amount is charged.
Heads up For the actual switch date and the amount charged today, go by the Stripe confirmation screen that appears before you make the change.

How Stripe plan changes apply

For Stripe-based subscriptions, depending on what you change, the change either applies right away or is scheduled for the day your current billing cycle ends. You can review the final effective date and the amount charged today on the Stripe confirmation screen that appears before you make the change. 1) Applies right away, with the difference charged immediately Changes that mean you’ll pay more than before, such as moving up to a more expensive, higher plan, apply immediately, and the prorated difference for the remaining time is charged on the spot.
  • Rather than ‘canceling and restarting’ your current plan, you keep your current billing cycle and pay only the difference.
  • It credits the unused portion of your existing plan, charges for the remaining time on the new plan, then bills only that difference immediately.
  • So the amount charged immediately depends on how much time is left until your next billing date. It’s larger early in the cycle and smaller the closer you are to the next billing date.
Example: Lite $7 → Starter/Pro $13, changing right at the start of a cycle charges about $6 immediately, while halfway through the cycle it’s only about $3. When a change applies right away like this, your usage limit also switches to the new plan immediately.
  • The minutes you’ve already used this billing cycle are subtracted from the new plan’s limit, and the rest is available immediately.
  • Available usage = “new plan’s limit − minutes already used this cycle”. (Your billing cycle stays the same, so usage isn’t reset to zero.)
Example: if you used 100 minutes on Lite (300 min/month) and then change to Pro (1,000 min/month), your remaining usage is 1,000 − 100 = 900 minutes. (If you haven’t recorded yet, the full 1,000 minutes are available.) In this case your billing date (renewal date) stays the same, and when the next billing date arrives the new plan’s amount is charged as usual. 2) Scheduled for the day your current cycle ends Changes that lower the amount you pay don’t apply right away; they’re scheduled for the day your current billing cycle ends. In this case, no prorated difference is charged today, and the new amount isn’t billed immediately. On your next renewal date it switches to the new plan and the new amount. These changes include:
  • Moving to a cheaper (lower) plan
  • Reducing the number of team seats
  • A monthly → annual change, where the annual price works out lower over the long run than your current monthly price
For scheduled changes, you keep your current plan until this cycle ends, and the change takes effect from your next renewal date. This way you don’t lose the time you’ve already paid for; the change is reflected from the next cycle.
Note For whether a change applies right away or is scheduled for the next cycle, and how much is charged today, go by the Stripe confirmation screen that appears before you make the change. Contact support with any questions.

App Store (iOS) plan change

  • Select Tiro as in the “Check your current plan” step.
  • Tap the See all plans menu to see every available plan.
  • Choose the plan you want and your plan changes immediately.
When you upgrade You buy a subscription that offers a higher level of service than your current one. You’re upgraded immediately and a prorated amount of your existing subscription is refunded. When you downgrade You choose a subscription that offers a lower level of service than your current one. Your existing subscription stays until the next renewal date, then renews at the lower level and price on the next billing date.

Google Play (Android) plan change

  • Click the button at the top left of Tiro’s home screen.
  • Choose Settings (gear icon).
  • Click the [Manage Subscription] button below the usage display.
  • Choose the plan you want, then tap the [Purchase] button.
You can change your plan anytime, and it applies right away in a few clicks.
When you upgrade This means moving to a plan with more features and usage than your current one.
  • Upgrades apply immediately on payment.
  • The added features and usage are available right away.
  • The prorated difference for the remaining period is charged immediately, and your billing (renewal) date stays the same.
When you downgrade This means moving to a plan with fewer features and less usage than your current one.
  • You keep your current plan until the end of this billing cycle, and switch to the lower plan you chose from the next renewal date.
  • No partial refund is given for the period you’ve already paid for.
This is a limitation under Google Play Store’s billing policy. Thank you for understanding.

Changing the billing cycle for in-app purchases (monthly → annual)

Under in-app purchase policy, changing the billing cycle (monthly → annual) is only possible through web/desktop payment after your current subscription expires. How to do it
  • Cancel your current monthly subscription (you won’t be cut off immediately and can use it until the expiry date).
    • For how to cancel, see the “In-app purchase (iOS / Android) refunds” section below and each store’s subscription management screen.
  • After your subscription expires, subscribe to the annual plan in the app.
Try it this way. The annual subscription gives you two months free. Pay for ten months and use Tiro for the full twelve.

Annual subscription benefits

  • Two months free (twelve months for the price of ten)
  • Access to all the same features
If you have any questions, contact us through the in-app messenger (support).

Refunds

If you need a refund, whether it’s available can depend on when you paid and whether you’ve used the service.

Stripe (web/desktop) refunds

If you paid on the web or desktop (Stripe), request a refund through support. Here are the refund criteria.
  • Monthly billing: Within 7 days of payment, you get a full refund. After 7 days but within 14 days, you can get a full refund if you haven’t used the service at all since paying. After 15 days or more, a refund isn’t possible.
  • Annual billing: We prorate the time you’ve used and refund the remaining amount. Support will share the exact calculation individually.
  • The refund reaches you within 5 to 10 business days depending on your card issuer. Your subscription ends as soon as the refund is made; you can still view and edit existing notes, but you can’t create new ones.

In-app purchase (iOS / Android) refunds

How you get a refund depends on where you paid.
  • iOS (App Store): Only Apple can issue this refund, so Tiro can’t process it directly. Request it yourself through the App Store.
  • Android (Google Play): If you meet the refund criteria above, support can process it for you directly. You can also request a refund yourself through the Google Play Store within 48 hours of payment. Follow the steps below.
Request an Android (Google Play) refund
  1. Open the Google Play Store refund request link Heads up
    • Check that the account signed in to Play Store is the one used for your Tiro payment.
    • If you use multiple Google accounts, be sure it’s the account you were signed in to at the time of subscription.
    • Check the receipt (sent by Play Store) in your email to see right away which account the subscription was made with.
    • In the Play Store app, switch to another account from the profile icon → switch account menu at the top right, then check the subscription page again.
  2. Request a refund > Enter the account you paid with > Find your Tiro charge among your purchases > Select ‘Bought by accident’
If it’s been more than 48 hours since payment, or requesting it yourself doesn’t work, contact us through the in-app messenger (support). We can refund it directly for you if you meet the refund criteria. Request an iOS (App Store) refund
  • Open the App Store refund link
  • Sign in with the Apple account (App Store account) used for payment
  • Choose the issue: Request a refund
  • Choose the detail: I didn’t mean to purchase this item
  • Select your Tiro charge
  • After selecting all items, choose Submit to complete your refund request.
It can take about 1 to 2 days for the actual refunded amount to reach you.
Heads up Be sure to check the payment date. If you select the wrong charge, the refund can’t be processed.

Roles, permissions, and billing

A Tiro workspace has four roles, and whether a role is billed on the team plan depends on the role.

Billed roles

Admin

Permissions An admin can use all of Tiro’s features plus workspace management. They hold every permission, from recording, editing, summarizing, and document generation to people management and settings changes. The user who creates a workspace is automatically given the Admin role. Billing An admin uses one team plan seat and is billed $29 per month.

Member

Permissions A Member can view notes and use all of Tiro’s features. They can start recordings, edit notes, summarize, and generate documents, but can’t use workspace management features like inviting people or changing roles. Billing A Member uses one team plan seat and is billed $29 per month.

Roles that aren’t billed

Unpaid Admin

Permissions An unpaid admin can view notes and use workspace management features. They can invite and remove people, change roles, manage settings, and view notes they’re invited to. However, they can’t use Tiro’s core features like recording, summarizing, and document generation. Billing An unpaid admin doesn’t use a team plan seat and isn’t billed.

Viewer

Permissions A viewer can only view notes in the workspace. They can’t use recording, editing, or workspace management features. Billing A viewer doesn’t use a team plan seat and isn’t billed.

Billing example

Admin and Member each use a paid seat at $29 per month. Unpaid Admin and Viewer aren’t billed. For example, a team of 2 Admins, 3 Members, 1 Unpaid Admin, and 5 Viewers has 5 paid seats in total (2 Admins + 3 Members), for a monthly fee of $145 (5 × $29).

Changing roles

A workspace Admin or Unpaid Admin can change someone’s role in settings. How to change a role [Settings > Workspace settings > Members > Member list] How billing is handled when a role changes Changing from an unbilled role (Viewer, Unpaid Admin) to a billed role (Member, Admin) is prorated from the moment of the change through your next billing date, and that amount is added to your next regular invoice. Nothing is charged at the moment you make the change. Conversely, changing from a billed role to an unbilled role leaves the current period you already paid for unchanged, and the reduced headcount applies from your next billing date. There is no refund or credit for the remaining period.
How it’s calculated Charge or refund amount = $29 × (days remaining until next billing ÷ days in the billing cycle)
Changes between billed roles (Admin ↔ Member) or between unbilled roles (Viewer ↔ Unpaid Admin) don’t affect billing.

Add and remove team members

How team plan billing basically works

Team plan pricing is based on the number of accounts (seats). You’re charged for each user on the team, but the features available differ by role (see “Roles, permissions, and billing” above). Pricing structure
  • Base rate: $29/month per account
  • Unlimited usage time
  • All collaboration features included
Example: A team of 10 is charged $290/month (10 × $29). Consolidated billing The whole team is billed on a single invoice.
  • Charged to the team owner’s payment method
  • No separate per-person payment
  • One invoice issued

Add team members

How to invite You need admin permissions to invite team members.
  • Click your profile at the top left > Team management
  • Click the Add member button
  • Enter an email address (required)
  • Add a note (optional: team, role, etc.)
  • Send the invite
The invite process
  • Once the invite is complete, an invitation is sent to that email
  • When they accept, they’re registered as a team member right away
How billing works when you add someone When a team member accepts the invite, the period from that moment through your next billing date is prorated, and that amount is billed on your next regular billing date together with the regular fee, as a single invoice. Nothing is charged at the moment they accept. So it is normal to see no change on your card statement or invoices right after adding someone. You do not need to pay again or re-send the invitation. Billing formula: amount added to your next invoice = ($29 ÷ days in the billing cycle) × days remaining Example 1: monthly plan Example 2: annual plan
Note When you invite another team member, the fee is calculated by days used from the moment they accept, and that amount is added to your next regular invoice. It is not charged separately on acceptance.

Remove team members

How to remove
  • Click your profile at the top left > Team management
  • Select the person to remove
  • Click Remove from team
  • Confirm to exclude them immediately
What happens after removal Immediate effects:
  • The person is excluded from the team plan immediately
  • They can’t access shared team features like the team glossary
  • They no longer get team subscription benefits
Cost handling:
  • The subscription cost for that person is no longer charged from your next billing date
  • The current period you already paid for stays unchanged. There is no refund or credit for the remaining period
Billing example when removing someone Scenario:
  • Now: a 5-person team, monthly plan ($145/month)
  • Billing date: the 1st of each month (charged on January 1)
  • Removing someone: January 15 (16 days remaining)
  • Members removed: 1
Billing breakdown:
Important Even if you remove someone on January 15, there is no refund or credit for the remaining 16 days of January. The January charge already made stays as it is, and the reduced headcount is reflected from the February 1 charge.

Cancel a team plan subscription

To stop a team plan subscription, you can do it the same way as canceling an individual plan. How to cancel
  • Sign in to the Tiro website or desktop app
  • Go to Settings > Manage Subscription
  • Click the Manage billing button
  • Choose Cancel Subscription and confirm
What changes after canceling Still available:
  • All team plan features until the end of the current billing cycle
  • Your existing team structure and data stay as they are
After the billing cycle ends:
  • You can’t create new notes
  • You can still view and edit existing notes
Note Even if you cancel, the team itself isn’t deleted, and you can subscribe again anytime.

Switch team ↔ individual, leave a team

Switching from an individual plan to a team plan

How to switch You can switch to a team plan anytime, even while on an individual plan.
  • Go to Settings > Manage Subscription
  • Click Start team plan
  • Check the automatically calculated seat count and amount, then complete payment
What to know 1) Settlement on switch When you switch from an individual plan to a team plan, it’s settled with proration at the time of the switch. 2) Existing notes are kept All notes you created on the individual plan are kept, and you can still access them after switching to a team plan. 3) In-app purchase users can’t start a team plan If you paid in the iPhone or Android app, you can’t start a team plan directly. Mobile in-app purchases must use that platform’s payment system under App Store or Google Play policy, and that payment system doesn’t support team plans. To use a team plan, switch to the Stripe payment service on the website or desktop app.
Heads up You can cancel your in-app subscription first, wait until the subscription period ends, and then start a team plan. If you want to switch right away, contact support to be connected with an agent for help.
How to switch:
  • Cancel your current in-app subscription (in the App Store or Google Play). See the cancellation section above for details.
  • Wait until the subscription expiry date, or request early termination through support
  • Sign in to the Tiro website (https://tiro.ooo/) or the desktop app
  • Start the team plan in Settings > Manage Subscription

Switching from a team plan to an individual plan

Before starting an individual paid plan, you need to leave the team first. For the steps to leave a team, see the Leaving a team section just below. If you have any questions, contact us through the in-app messenger (support).

Leaving a team

You can leave on your own when you want to subscribe to an individual plan or leave the team. How to leave a team
  • Go to Settings > Team management
  • Click the Leave team button
  • Confirm to complete your departure
Q: I don’t see the Leave team button A: The Leave team button is always visible. However, if you’re the team’s only admin, pressing it doesn’t complete the leave and a warning appears instead. In that case, assign another member as an admin and try again. If you’re not the only admin or you’re a regular member, you can leave the team yourself at any time.
What changes after leaving Still available:
  • View and edit all notes you created personally
  • Switch to an individual plan (subscribe to the plan you want)
No longer available:
  • Access to team folders
  • Use of team templates
  • Use of the team glossary
  • Viewing notes created within the team (they stay with the team)
Note Even if you leave the team, the notes you created personally are kept. However, notes you saved in team folders stay with the team and you can’t access them.
When leaving is restricted If you’re the workspace’s only admin, leaving the team on your own is restricted. If there are two or more admins, or you’re a regular member (Member/Viewer/Unpaid Admin), you can leave right away regardless of whether a subscription is active. Solutions:
  • If you’re a regular member: you can leave the team yourself with [Leave team] at any time.
  • If you’re the only admin: assign another member as an admin, then leave. If you still can’t leave as admin due to special circumstances, contact support.

Other FAQs

Can I pay with a corporate card?

Yes, you can pay with a corporate card as long as it’s a credit/debit card that works for international payments. At payment, check “Purchasing for business” and enter your business registration number to be billed with the 10% VAT exemption.

Is tax included?

If a business user enters a business registration number at payment, you’re billed with the 10% VAT exemption. You can check the tax line on your invoice in your payment history (invoice).

Can I pay in Korean won (KRW)?

Yes. In the web or desktop app, go to [Settings][Plans], switch the [Billing currency] dropdown at the top right of the pricing table to [Korean won (KRW)], and check out. You can pick Japanese yen (JPY) in the same place. Keep in mind that you can’t change the currency of an ongoing subscription. To switch, turn off auto-renewal, let the remaining period run out, and check out again in the currency you want (no refund of what you’ve already paid is needed). In-app purchases on iOS and Android have no currency picker.

I don’t see the billing currency dropdown

If you already have a paid subscription, the currency is locked to it and the dropdown disappears. Turn off auto-renewal and let the remaining period run out. The dropdown comes back, and you can check out again in the currency you want. It reappears when the period actually ends, not the moment you turn off auto-renewal. If you haven’t subscribed yet and the currency you want isn’t showing, reach out through the in-app messenger (customer support).
